For journeys where the Carrier is Grimaldi Euromed S.p.A., it is also possible to take out an insurance policy to cover material and direct damage to the bodywork, tyres, windows or external accessories suffered by vehicles carried on board the motor vessels. Can I book a trip with an infant who does not yet have an ID?


In the case of domestic travel, in the absence of identity document details, it is still possible to proceed with the booking. Once you have received your passport/ID card numbers, and in any case before departure, you will need to communicate them in order to include them in your reservation, by contacting our Call Centre or your trusted travel agency. Updating your document data is free of charge.

In the case of travel to Schengen States or to foreign non-Schengen countries, it is not possible to proceed with the booking in the absence of data relating to the identity document.

All passengers boarding Grimaldi Lines ferries, including children and infants, must be in possession of a valid identity document when checking in at the port (identity card, passport), as well as a travel ticket. Under no circumstances will boarding be permitted with mere self-certification pursuant to Presidential Decree 445/2000. Otherwise, boarding will be refused, with no right to reimbursement of the ticket.

How can I apply Special Fares?


At the moment of the on-line booking, our system will automatically suggest you the double estimate for the selected journey; one with the Standard Fare and the other one with the Special Fare.
When choosing a Special Fare ticket, current discounts and offers are applied for the selected parameters.
If Standard and Special Fare tickets are the same, our system will just show the standard one, thus giving the client the chance to have a refundable and changeable ticket.

What’s the difference between standard and special fares?


When choosing a Standard Fare, it is not possible to apply any kind of discount; fares are automatically applied (except for the children reduction reserved for children who are not 12 yet, at the moment of the departure).
Standard Fare tickets are refundable and changeable.
When choosing a Special Fare ticket, current discounts and offers can be applied for the selected parameters.
Special Fare tickets are changeable (if not specified the contrary in the conditions of applications of special offers applied) but not refundable; their availability is limited and it depends on restrictions.

How can I book or buy a ticket?


Booking a trip with a Grimaldi Lines ferry to Sardinia, Sicily, Spain, Greece and Tunisia is quick and easy!

You can buy a ticket:

  • directly online on our site
  • by contacting the Grimaldi Lines booking office on +39 081 496.444
  • by writing to info@grimaldi.napoli.it
  • at your trusted travel agency
  • through the websites of the major ferry web operators
  • through the Grimaldi Lines sales points in Naples and Rome
  • at the ticket offices of the departure ports
  • in exceptional cases also on board the ship, at the reception

Whatever channel you choose, to make a reservation remember to keep the following information on hand for each passenger: name, surname, date of birth, document number (for each passenger even infants) and relative expiry date (for domestic routes, the valid document is not must be included in the booking; for Spain and Greece you need at least the identity card number; for Tunisia you need the passport number) and make, model and license plate of any vehicle.

On the web site you can find the different maritime connections for each destination, with indication of departure days and times.

If you buy the ticket directly online:

  • select the round-trip or one-way routes
  • choose the accommodation (making sure that the number of passengers corresponds to the number of seats; e.g. if you are 2 and you want the inside cabin, select AB2 and not AB4)
  • if  your pet travels with you and you want to bring it in your cabin, you can buy the pet in cabin service at €10 per cabin and leg
  • if you have a discount code, enter it in the appropriate box; if you are the holder of a membership card of one of our partner companies, select the partnership in the appropriate drop-down menu and then enter the card number
  • if you are a native or resident of Sardinia or Sicily, check the resident box
  • once all selections have been made, the lowest applicable price will appear (corresponding to the special rate) for each date just before or after the one you selected
  • choose the best offer for you, two complete estimates will appear, one at a special rate and one at a standard rate, with the prices of each individual item
  • make your choice, enter all passenger data, any additional services and multi-risk insurance and your booking is complete!

Once the payment is complete, you will receive your tickets by email and you will be ready to go!

It is also possible to send an e-mail to info@grimaldi.napoli.it, specifying the booking reference and the passenger’s last name.
A professional will provide you with information about the status of the booking and, if this has been correctly booked, tickets will be sent to you at the e-mail specified at the moment of the booking; otherwise, he will proceed with a new booking.

Does the ticket I have received on-line constitute my ticket for the embark?


Tickets attached to the e-mail confirming the booking, are not valid for the embark; in order to get on board, it is necessary to have the boarding card which will be released by our staff at our ticket office, inside the departure port.
For departures from/to Sardinia, for which it is available the fast check-in, it is just necessary showing the ticket to our staff, at the moment of the embark.

The Grimaldi Lines route from Civitavecchia to Olbia and vice versa is seasonal and active in the summer months from 01/06/2024 to 30/09/2024. Departures from 01/10/2024 to 31/12/2024 are operated by another shipping Company. The related bookings are made by redirecting to the website of the aforementioned Company and under the conditions set out therein. To cancel / change the ticket and for any matter relating to the service (e.g. assistance and information to passengers, complaints), please contact the aforementioned operating Company. How can I have an invoice for my trip?


The cost of the travel ticket is recorded in the agent’s VAT registers at the same time as the ticket is issued.
The travel invoice can be requested directly online after purchasing the ticket by filling out the form on the following page.
The request can be made no later than one calendar year from the date of purchase of the ticket.
