Grimaldi Accessible Tourism

THE PROJECT

GRIMALDI ACCESSIBLE TOURISM is a project launched in 2018.

The Company believes that a vacation is everyone’s right, so it works to ensure its passengers enjoy a relaxing vacation. Above all, it welcomes customer suggestions and comments that can help us elevate its services to the highest level.

In the Mediterranean, passenger maritime transport is more than just tourism. It’s a daily connection between islands and the mainland. It’s access to services, work, and family relationships.

That’s why we’re so committed to accessibility.

From an Accessible Tourism perspective, one that is attentive to everyone’s needs, it is crucial that the quality of the offering be very high. By “everyone’s needs,” we mean children, the elderly, mothers pushing strollers, people with disabilities who move slowly, who are blind or hearing impaired, who have allergies or dietary restrictions. In other words, millions of people. Being sensitive to this issue means knowing how to combine the rationale of the tourism business with the ability to respond to a demand for hospitality that requires quality hospitality, dialogue, and technical knowledge.

OUR COMMITMENT

Grimaldi Lines is committed to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and inclusive travel experience for all passengers. Our ships and staff are equipped to welcome and assist people with disabilities or reduced mobility, in full compliance with applicable European and international regulations.

Before boarding

BOOKING AND ASSISTANCE REQUESTS
To ensure we offer the best possible assistance, passengers are asked to report any specific needs at the time of booking, at least 48 hours before departure, or 24 hours before for public service lines. Assistance can be requested through the Call Center at 081496444 or by email at info@grimaldi.napoli.it.

PORT CHECK-IN TIME
To ensure priority boarding and dedicated parking, Persons with Reduced Mobility must arrive at the port no later than 60 minutes before departure (30 minutes for participating lines).
PRMs with accompanying vehicles must arrive no later than 2 hours and 30 minutes before boarding (4 hours and 30 minutes for connections to/from Tunisia).

On board

ACCESSIBLE CABINS
All Grimaldi Lines ships offer accessible cabins for persons with reduced mobility (PRM), either inside or outside, adequately equipped, and featuring dedicated restrooms.

CHECK-IN AND ASSISTANCE
PRMs with accompanying vehicles departing on international routes can go to the PRM ASSISTANCE desk to check in and receive a special coupon to attach to their vehicle. PRMs with accompanying vehicles departing on domestic routes can fast-check in directly in the area in front of the pier, making themselves recognizable by displaying their four-way flashers and/or displaying the A4 sheet of paper marked “PRM” that is provided with the ticket. A support staff member will indicate the parking location on the garage deck and provide an onboard wheelchair, if needed.

COMMON AREAS AND ACCESSIBLE SERVICES
Onboard, assistance for PRMs is provided by the Purser or another designated person.
Ships have equipped cabins, dedicated restrooms, and reserved spaces for PRMs, in accordance with current regulations.
In public areas, the routes leading to the main onboard services are equipped with tactile guides, while reserved spaces are identified by signage and equipped with wheelchair fastening systems.

Security and contacts

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
In the event of an emergency, designated personnel, identifiable by a blue and white band with the word “ASSISTANCE,” will assist PRMs in reaching the assembly point and boarding points.
Access to the ship’s decks is facilitated by elevators equipped with illuminated keypads, audio signals, and raised buttons, for the benefit of blind and visually impaired passengers.

USEFUL INFORMATION
Posters summarizing Passenger Rights are available at ticket offices and onboard the ship. These can also be accessed in audio format using dedicated headphones, to assist blind and visually impaired passengers.

EUROPEAN DISABILITY CARD

We have activated agreements linked to the European Disability Card that provide discounted rates for holders and their companions.

DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY

We have also invested in digital accessibility: our website has been developed to be navigable even by users with sensory and cognitive disabilities.
