Mare Nostrum Awards is the International press award sponsored by the on board magazine Grimaldi Magazine Mare Nostrum and dedicated to the Motorways of the Sea, with the aim to promote this excellent opportunity of exchanges, links and sustainable development of the Mediterranean countries.

 The 2013 edition of the award will be characterized by an important news: the jackpot will be divided between seven winners, of which three will receive a net amount of € 10,000 each and other four prizes of € 5,000 net will be reserved to participants under 40 years old (born from 1st January 1974).

 All  part-time reporters and professional journalists, as well as photographers, who have treated and published a work on the Motorways of the Sea between the 1st of December 2012 and the 10th of July 2013, emphasizing the advantages of these links from an economic, social and environmental view, are invited to participate to the award. Prizes will be assigned to press reports, correspondence, documentaries or radio and television services, photographic reports as well as economic-tourist report investigations realised in Italian, English, Spanish, French, Catalan and Greek languages.

 All authors have to reside in Italy, Spain, Greece, Tunisia and Morocco, while the works have to be published in the respective countries through national diffusion newspapers and magazines, transport and tourist journals and magazines, even in the on line version, press agencies, radio and tv stations, photography magazines and exhibitions.

 In order to get direct information and experiences useful to prepare their works, all authors interested in the Mare Nostrum Awards will be offered for a round trip on board one of Grimaldi Lines or Minoan Lines vessels, operating between Italy, Spain, Greece, Tunisia and Morocco.  The trip must be performed by the 30th of June 2013.

 The works will be judged by the International Award Jury, made up by Folco Quilici, writer and film director, and important members of the culture world and journalism.

 Participants must send their works to the Award Organisation Secretary by July the 31st.
